TAIZE, ‘Oxygen for the soul’

In the south of Burgundy in rural France lies a small village called Taizé. This village is home to a religious community of brothers, from Protestant and Catholic traditions, and it is where young people have been flocking to for many decades.

A week in Taize is an opportunity for reflection and contemplation and a little step back from daily life. But bringing people together is also the essence of Taize and it is a week of meeting young people from different countries and cultures where friendships are made and preconceptions challenged.

The church in Taize is like no other, it holds thousands of people and everyone sits on the floor. The world famous Taizé chants are used throughout all prayer services and you will find ourselves humming them throughout the days and on your return home. The atmosphere is simply unique and Taize truly stays with you.
