Ossory Youth offers student placement opportunities to third level students each year. The placement duration is typically twelve weeks but can vary depending on the third level course and year of study. As a youth work organisation, students of youth and community courses are ideally suited to avail of these placement opportunities, however Ossory Youth welcomes applications from students of any courses that are broadly related to the field of youth work.
All work placement students are based in the Ossory Youth offices in Kilkenny city and typically are involved in a number of varied youth projects and programmes, thereby gaining on overall insight into youth work provision and the job of a youth worker. The placement student will assist youth workers in the planning and delivery of a number of programmes for young people, have the opportunity to link theoretical knowledge to youth work practice and gain an overall understanding of youth service provision.
Ossory Youth are now seeking student placement applications for twelve week periods from October-December 2016 and January-March 2017. Students are required to complete the student placement application form available here and submit it via email or post with an up to date curriculum vitae. Emailed applications to firstname.lastname@example.org and postal applications to Kevin O Driscoll, Student Placement Officer, Ossory Youth, Desart Hall, New St, Kilkenny.
The closing date for October-December 2016 placement applications is Friday 8th April 2016. The closing date for January-March 2017 applications is Friday 6th May 2016.
