Our vision is to eventually offer a counselling service for adolescents, young adults and parents. For now, we are offering a counselling service for adults which allows us to take our time and grow a panel of counsellors that have the right approach and qualifications for the type of service we want to offer. It also gives us time to source funding to enable us to subsidise the cost of counselling; ensuring that when we offer a service to adolescents, it will be accessible and affordable.
Currently, we offer a counselling service for adults (18 years+). The cost for each session is €20. We offer 10 sessions per client, with scope to extend if required.
This services offers a warm, non-judgmental and empathic space for clients to work on issues affecting them and to develop new ways of moving forward in their lives. Many of our clients are struggling with exam stress and anxiety and we support them to find ways of understanding and managing that stress. We also support clients around general anxiety and mental health issues, relationships, loss and grief and parenting.
Both our counsellors are qualified and pre-accredited with the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. They offer an integrated model of counselling, drawing from evidence-based approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), psychodynamic, mindfulness and reality therapy.
